enable encryption of formatted or marked up notes

I appreciate the encryption feature. But I don't understand why I can't encrypt text that has headings, or bullet points. 

Please enable encryption of formatted text.

Probably this is related to the note being a mix of content and formatting - if you view the raw information, it is the text embedded into HTML code. Encrypting would mean to encrypt part of the notes code as well, and maybe could break something. Just my thoughts about it, no inside knowledge.

Personally I think playing with this or that little aspect will not make encryption great. Great would be to have one (or more) notebooks that are selected as "encrypted". This would mean everything moved into such a notebook would be encrypted, the full notes including attachments. Then nobody would need to bother about formatting or similar.

I see what you mean, yes. Now I see the appeal of having an encrypted notebook.

At note level it really is better to use external encryption. I use AxCrypt. Other products are available...

I agree that encrypted notebooks would be useful.
