OK, this is a sign your local database got somehow corrupted. To set it back, it sometimes is sufficient to log out of the client once, and log back in. If this is not enough, you can try this (Windows version) to rebuild it from the server:

  1. Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar.
  2. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Sign back in to Evernote
