zampana 3 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Have been using audio notes for months but all of sudden in last week or so, when I finish recording an audio note, I get the message that "Attachment can't load" in the note. Saving the note just saves it empty. Please let me know what is happening all of a sudden? 2
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,017 Posted December 27, 2021 Level 5 Posted December 27, 2021 You most likely exceeded your note size limit, or your general upload limit for the current 30 days. Mobile has no option to save the audio file locally. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314418
zampana 3 Posted December 27, 2021 Author Posted December 27, 2021 The last note that saved properly was over a month ago. I make maybe 50mb of audio notes a month, way less than what I should be able to do with a premium account. It's unfortunate because I didn't realize that these notes weren't saving, so have lost a bunch of material. It's this kind of intermittent problem that makes Evernote a problematic piece of software. Have been using for over 10 years and still struggling with this kind of unreliability issue.
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,017 Posted December 28, 2021 Level 5 Posted December 28, 2021 Have you yet asked support ? Use the device where the problem occurred, and attach the activity log. It will most likely not bring back a lost audio file, but maybe they can identify the problem. Meanwhile you can use another app, and save the result into EN. I prefer to use JustPressRecord. It creates an audio file on Apple Watch, iOS and Mac and makes a transcript to computer text as well. When you share it to EN, you can decide to send the audio, the text or both. This is often a good solution, because you get the text for fast reading, but can always fall back to the audio in case something was not transcribed correctly. It costs a small one-time fee, worth every dime. 1
zampana 3 Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Thank you - brilliant advice. JustPressRecord sounds great. Will check and see if it's available for Android. I have been saving audio notes in EN and then exporting to Temi for transcription and then once edited back into EN. Hopefully once audio is fix in EN, there will be an embedded transcription service... Love my system with EN, just frustrated that there always seems to be a problem... 1
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,017 Posted December 28, 2021 Level 5 Posted December 28, 2021 Yes, would be nice if they included something like a transcribe directly. On the Mac, JPR does the job again: I can export any sound file from EN, open it with JPR and have it transcribed. I always compare EN to a Swiss knife or a Leatherman multitool: It helps you in all situations - but for a very specific job, a dedicated tool will beat it.
Sukitrebek 0 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 I have the same problem, but I would like to actually solve the problem and be able to record audio in Evernote again. Even though I have a plus account and am paying I don't have access to support to even submit a ticket? This is ridiculous. I need help please.
