You can try this: 

Hold down the opt/alt key and now click on the help menu.

You will se a hidden option „Troubleshooting“. In the submenu behind it are 2 options that may help:

  • Reload will start a reload of data from the server
  • Force reload will start an extended download from the server

I have not found any documentation about what exactly happens now, but it is worth a try. Sometimes I needed to hold the ctrl/strg key together with alt/opt to make it show.

If this does not work, try this:

  1. Go to File > Sign Out [name] from the menu bar.
  2. Select the "Remove my Evernote data from this device" option, then click Sign out.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Sign back in to Evernote
