WarrenC 1
I have an older version of Evernote where files were stored localluy. I wanted to transfer files to a new computer. I looked under help. It said to get the new evernote, click on tools then export files to an ENEX. I downloaded the new app. My old evernote app disappeared. There is not Tools option under the new app. What just happened? I had tons of files in there. How could it just delete everything without giving me the option of saving or confirming first? Are you saying your files were stored in Local Notebooks i.e. not backed up by Evernote to the servers >>I downloaded the new app The older version of Evernote (Legacy) can be downloaded at Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote Your old local database should still be on your machine Link to comment
WarrenC 1
It tells me my OS is too old Link to comment
WarrenC 1
So, were the directions under the help guide wrong? Is there no tools option to be able to access those old files? Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,072 Posted October 24, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted October 24, 2021 Not a bad idea to go back to legacy for the moment. About the "Tool": I don't know if it only shows when you have local notebooks, I have none. But a "Tool" menu does not show in my v10 client. My conclusion is: Ask support. Link to comment
Frki2 76
There should be "Tools" menu and in him "Check for local notebooks". After that you will get local notebooks to transfer ( or should ). Link to comment

Which Evernote version were you running? and which version did you upgrade too? Which help guide are you referring too? Link to comment
