3.5x Annual Subscription Fee!!!

Recommended Posts

I've been using Evernote since 2012. I've always been a premium user. I had a problem with a lot of bugs. I persevered, persevered, and never completely abandoned Evernote. I've always been aware of its potential. I chose to believe the promises of Evernote's CEOs. In the last 2 years, the program has had serious problems. Again, I believed in Ian Small's vision and words, I was patient. But when I tried to renew a subscription last month, I really had a hard time. The subscription fee that I paid 70 TL (Turkish Lira) every year has now become 250 TL. The subscription fee in Turkey has been increased 3.5 times. Like a joke! After all the trouble they caused, they should find excuses to forgive themselves; first they increased the restrictions on the free version, then they increased the subscription fee by 3.5 times. This has now crossed the line. Evernote has proven what a hungry company it is with this move. Ian Small is now an untrustworthy CEO for me.

You don’t mention on which Plan you are, and to which plan you wanted to renew.

Second Turkey suffers high inflation rates. A comparison in local currency may be misleading. Euro and Dollar subscription prices have been stable. EN needs to pay its bills in Dollar. It won’t help them when Turkish wages calculated in hard currency are falling due to inflationary pressure.

If you have questions about the account or payment, you can contact support. Ticket Typ Payment & Billing addresses the right people.

There has been inflation in Turkey for a very, very long time. Evernote has changed this pricing policy. I'm on Premium account. Now that I want to renew my account, its name has changed to personnel and its price has increased 3.5 times. I spoke with Evernote. Bla bla bla, classic words. You are very right, we are sorry, but there is nothing we can do.

My sympathy, Turkey is going through hard times.

As I said, the subscription prices in Dollar and Euro have not changed. Who was on a full, not rebated Premium plan before was automatically switched to the Personal plan, same price, slightly better features.

The rest I assume are simply the currency changes. The Dollar has increased relative to the TL by 3 times over the last 5 years (3.05 in 10/2017, today it is 8.91). Maybe EN did not adapt the price in local currency for a while, no idea. You can test this yourself, if you take your annual subscription price, and calculate its Dollar value over the last years. I assume it went down year by year, measured in hard currency.

This does not help you with the current increase, I know that. And obviously the communication about it was not good, either.
