Can you please post a copy of your answer to Microsoft, listing all Excel functions that were coded into Excel without your consent and desire to use them ? I am sure you get a new Excel, stripped down to the 17 functions that got a thumbs up from you …

EN is a package - other users are happy to get additional options without additional cost. If you don’t like the tasks feature, nobody forces you to use it.

Personally, I use Evernote as my task management tool

The task feature is a work-in-progress   
I'm still using individual task notes, with due date stored in the reminder feature   
The v10 addition of due date has long been wanted

Don't get your panties in a knot about features you don't need; just don't use them

I'll wager that once you try using tasks, you'll appreciate the function.  It adds greatly to the concept of taking notes and getting things done.

I think it’s a fantastic feature, you will find just because you do t use it doesn’t mean it’s useless.
