Pixel 5 Camera Locks Up During OCR Business Card Recognition

Pixel 5, Android 11, Stock, not rooted etc. App v10.16

When I try to scan a stack of business cards, the app will normally freeze up on usually the second or third card.   Camera freezes with the text "Looking".  Normally I have to force close the app to restart.

This functionality used to be quite more user friendly.

Is anyone else experiencing this bug?

Just some loud thinking: Do you scan one card after the other, or do you scan one card, wait for the import, check it and only then proceed with the next card ?

The business card function runs some tasks like identifying the cards content and extracting some information. It probably collides with ongoing scanning of the next cards.
