chrissy_a 0 Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 You can see the content of the note, but when trying to edit you can only copy, hide, or permanently decrypt the text... 21-09-01-11-02-08.mp4
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,017 Posted September 2, 2021 Level 5 Posted September 2, 2021 Very simple: You can encrypt text using Evernote for Mac and Evernote for Windows. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005547
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,077 Posted September 3, 2021 Evernote Expert Posted September 3, 2021 An encrypted text block has to be permanently decrypted in order to edit the text. That's just the way it works. It isn't great and there are many conversations in the forums about the indadequacies of Evernote encryption. A much better route is to use the built in encryption functions of an external file format such as Windows, PDF etc or use an external encryption program such AxCrypt. I'm sure others are available but I know that AxCrypt works across platforms. 1
ErolDusi 0 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 This is not the way it used to work in previous versions of Evernote desktop application. Used to be able to edit directly in the encrypted text box which is much more convenient than decrypting just to edit the data.
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,017 Posted September 5, 2021 Level 5 Posted September 5, 2021 It is as it is - not always a specific detail is reproduced on a new version of a software.
matej1990 199 Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 In v10.20 it is now possible to edit encrypted text without permanently decrypting first! This is one thing that I was really missing in v10.
