Scanning

I have a Fujitsu ix500 which is great and works fine but I want a second scanner for another location. I like the Fujitsu but wonder what anyone has found that is as easy to use and which is relatively inexpensive. We use Apple Macs. Thanks

Use the iPhone …

For any heavier loads you will be disappointed by cheaper scanners. To scan a few pages the phone does a great job for me. For many pages you end up in the same category as an ix500, resp. the newer models ix1500 and its derivatives.

Evernote's Scannable app on an iPhone/iPad (free)

Even the scanner build into the app does a good job.

As an external scanner I prefer ScannerPro from readdle. It has build in OCR and sends scans to specified notebooks, complete with a set of defined tags. As many workflows, so many options. Only downside: It is not free.
