HELP: Scrolling thru a note is too fast using the touchpad (Windows, v6.25.1.9091)

When I use my laptop's touchpad to scroll up and down in a note, it scrolls way too fast, it is impossible to scroll slowly enough to find the right point in my note. This only happens with the Evernote Windows app (not a problem in the browser version of Evernote, no other apps on my machine have this problem) and only with the laptop touchpad (doesn't happen when I connect a mouse and use the scroll wheel). I have a relatively modern laptop, Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15IRH.

Adjusting the scroll speed of the touchpad in Windows settings does not solve the problem and it makes scrolling every other app brutally slow.

Anybody else experiencing this? Any suggestions on fixing it?

Whatever happens here, no bug fixes for the Windows legacy client any longer. It is declared „end of life“ by EN.

So you need a workaround for the scrolling issue, the software itself will not be touched any more.

Is there a way to revert to an older version? This was not a problem a few months ago.

6.25.1 is the 'old version' - it hasn't been updated in more than a year.

I was forced to install an upgrade a couple of months ago, I think they were rolling out the task functionality...

You could try uninstalling / reinstalling from  http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.1.9091.exe - to see if that gets you back to the correct version.  

(Don't forget to check that the updates option via Tools > Options is disabled)

If the device has a proprietary driver there may be app specific settings available that will let you fine-tune it for specific apps. My Fujitsu tablet PC has such a function. The driver icon appears in the system tray.

Oh, the joys of Windows, having a driver (most of the times outdated, because Windows doesn’t dare to check) for every nitty bitty little piece of hardware cluttered together to make a PC out of them.
