Web Clips Stopped Syncing 7/17/21

Web clips no longer sync successfully. This started 7/17/21.

Every time I generate a new web clip, the Android app shows an additional clip attempting to sync. But in actual fact all that is happening is that another item is being added to the number of notes "syncing" (but actually not successfully syncing).

I am able to create notes in both Android and web browser versions by starting a new note and then typing in it/adding items to it.

Both Android system and Evernote app are latest versions.

Again, this web clip "paralysis" started 7/17/21.

Any diagnoses or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks.

Update:

I just uninstalled and reinstalled the Android app.

All web clips from 7/17 - 7/24 were lost.

New clips are successfully syncing.

What is the likely cause of this?

Is there anything I could have done to avoid it?

A corrupted clip can block the import of all following clips. The best way to avoid it is to clip a limited number at a time, and then open the app to let the import happen. That way you only loose a few, and usually remember what was clipped and can reproduce it.

To avoid confusion: This is not syncing, it is an import of web clips. Import is purely local, on the device between apps, no server involved. Syncing is the movement of data between client and server.
