WilliamL 374
Hi all, am I correct in understanding that if I put attachments in notes - pdf for instance these will be indexed and are searchable? How exactly does that search then work? If I do a global search will the attachments appear and the results be in the search results? Link to comment

If you search for the word it will bring up a list of notes as usual. If you look at a note where the word is contained in a pdf, provided you have the pdf in one of the embedded views, it will highlight the word in yellow just as it would if the word was in the body of the note. Hitting ctrl-F (Windows) brings up the search in note menu box pre-populated with the search term. You can use this to cycle through the hits in the pdf. In this screen shot I'm on the first hit (in blue) and the second hit is just below it in yellow. Note that the feature is not available for the free plan. 2 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 5,577 Posted July 22, 2021 Level 5 Share Posted July 22, 2021 On mobile: The note will be in the search results, but not showing a highlighted word ? Then is is in the attachment(s). When the pdf shows embedded, open it and click on the magnifying glass. Add the search, and you get a list of all hits. Link to comment
