Can't share notes or notebooks

For about a week or so I have been unable to share notebooks or notes from my Mac - once I click the share button, it gets stuck on the loading image with the green circle.  I thought it was to do with the recent update, so I downgraded to an older version from February (dmg still kicking around) - same issue. How do I fix this? I need to be able to share my content.

I can still share from my phone but it's cumbersome as compared to sharing from the Mac.

Working on my Mac, no problem.

Have you tried logging out and back in again ?

I have been having this exact problem since getting my new computer. Which was years ago. I would love your help with a resolution! 

I can share using the web version ONLY.  I can share just fine on my work computer, but not my laptop through the app. PLEASE HELP!

There is sort of an universal fix for problems with the local desktop client. Here is the Mac version:

1. Go to the Evernote menu, Preferences, and uncheck „Keep data when leaving“
2. Log out of EN (File menu), quit EN (cmd-q)
3. If you want to be very sure, restart the Mac
4. Open EN, log back in, wait for it to run an initial sync.
