Content jumps up when searching (EN Web on Ipad with external keyboard)

Recommended Posts

There is a issue when using EN Web on Ipad (Safari for Ipad) with external Apple Magic Keyboard.

(((The most time I use EN Web on Ipad and not the Ipad-app, because the Ipad-app is so bad. There are so many differences to the Mac/Web-Version. So many functions thad does not exist in the Ipad-App. And the Ipad-App is very slow. I can not work with the Ipad-App. Please give us an Ipad-App with wich professional working is possible!)))

When I use the search-functionality, the whole content of the browser jumps up. Then there is a white stripe between the lower content and the keyboard bar.  And the upper content is then overlaid by the task bar of Safari.

I can see the upper content only if I choose in Safari the option „cut off toolbar“. But when I do this, there is the next issue: The keyboard bar overlays then the lower part of EN so that I can not see the tag options.

Please fix this.

No, this doesn‘t solve the issue. When I reload the page, then following occurs: „Multiple tabs not supported in this browser.“ And then I have to close all and restart.

True, I also got that error. I think that when that happens, killing Safari, restarting it, and reload Evernote gets you out it. If anything, this should serve as a sign that the issue you raised should be fixed.

I am wondering if this Evernote bug is related to Safari shrinking its URL bar, but I don't see a way to prevent that behavior as an iPadOS user.

Did you also report it to Support, in case nobody from Evernote reads this thread?

Thank you. Good feeling, that there are other users with similar problems.

Now, I have reported the issue to EN-support. I hope, they will fix it soon…

Now I got from the EN-Support the following answer:

„Thank you for taking the time to reach out to Evernote Customer Support. This is Noelle, and I'll be assisting you today.

I understand you're experiencing a problem in Evernote Web wherein the content jumps up when searching.

I appreciate you letting me know that you're using Safari on iPad to access Evernote Web. As it turns out, Evernote Web is not optimized for mobile browsers (phone and tablet). I recognize that you're using Evernote this way as the iPad app does not offer some of the functionalities the desktop clients (Mac and web) do.

I also follow that your iPad app exhibits slow performance. Feel free to get back to me with the following information, so I can further assist you with this:

  • Does the problem occur when performing a specific action (e.g., creating a new note, typing within a note, adding attachments, etc.)?
  • When it happens, are there any other apps running alongside Evernote?
  • Does rebooting the iPad help alleviate the problem?
  • Please send an activity log from your iPad app.“

This is so disappointing. I am an iPad only user. EN does not pay attention to this group of users. Ian Small said this also in an interview. Why? The iPad app not only exhibits slow performance. The iPad app is unsuitable for professional work. It looks bad. It works bad. There is lack of so much functionality. But what shall I do? I am, as I said, an iPad only user. There is a bad iPad app. And when I instead of the iPad app want to use EN Web, they say that EN Web is not optimized for mobile browsers. Is this a joke? Then, EN, hurry and optimize EN Web for mobile browsers!!! Or create an iPad app, that works. EN, your ignorance and arrogance is totally intolerable!!!

I am intrigued: what is the interview you're referring to, where Ian mentioned or suggested that iPad support isn't a priority for Evernote?
