Import Folder / Auto Import: Redux

Hello All:

 

I saw that the import folders were restored in EV version 10.16......

But I must be missing the big picture. 

I'm running:

v 10.4.3 build 2071 public
Editor: v112.1.14477
Service: v1.23.6

EV said that the function had been moved to Tools > Preferences >  / however I have no other option but: Save data at logout ! 

Did I not drink from the right Kool-Aid bottle ? 

Maybe import folders are getting confused with auto import folders ?????

Anyone ?

@KWR You'll need to catch up with the versions... I'd go to the website and download the installer for v10.16 and install over your current version.  That should catch you up

That's (apparently) correct.  You might want to go to Evernote.com and download the most recent version?  10.4 isn't going to cut it.

I'm running 10.4.3

Is my math that bad ? ......I think that 10.4.3 is greater than 10.14.

So.......I have passed the 10.14 release and should have the feature restored, but clearly it is not.

And....when I try to use the update function Help > Check for Updates. EV tells me I'm on the most recent release !

Er, yes?  Try downloading the latest version as suggested.

So...I'm not even going to ask why ever increasing numbers do not designate more recent versions since 10.4 IS greater than 10.16

and.....I'm just going to go the web site and find the 'latest' version. 

Why? Because the Help > Check for Updates - yields this:

You’re up to date!

Evernote 10.4.3 is currently the newest version available.

Go figure.

Simply download what is available on the EN website - it is always the latest release.

If your current old clients update procedure is broken, it will hopefully start to work again after you updated.

14 is greater 4, therefore 10.14. is newer then 10.4.

Undoubtedly true,  but software version numbers (and coders) don't quite follow normal decimal rules.  In coding,  10.4 is the fourth iteration of version 10.  There will be a series of 10.4.1,  10.4.2 versions - and then when they're all growed up,  there will be a version 10.5. 

When they get to be very very grown up,  they'll get to 10.16 - which is where we are now - and no doubt by now there's a  bouncing baby 10.16.1...

If you disbelieve me,  please go download the latest version from Evernote.com and check the version there....

True - with the exception that up to now EN used the digits after the second dot for something else. It got never counted up, instead came the next generation release.

So probably the baby will be named 10.17.something.
