Attachments Missing at new Evernote.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

Does anyone had this kind of problem?

Old notes, back from 2016 are showing the attachments at Evernote legacy.

But its shows no attachments at the desktop, app or web "new version".

Thanks.

Plataform: Old MacBook Pro with High Sierra.

The good news is Legacy and v10 use the same server database;
so the attachments aren't lost - just not visible

Can you post a sample note (enex format) or a public link?
If you export the note in html format, are the attachments included?

(I moved this discussion from the Android forum)

@DTLow just tried to export as an *.enex and as a *.html, just as you suggested.

Neither format was capable to export/show the attachments (simple *.png, *.jpg, and *.pdfs attached to the original notes)

But, when I open the note, using the legacy version of the app, everything works.

Using the new version (just made a fresh install, to be sure) still shows only the text part fo the note, no attachments 😞

Maybe I would have to export everything as an *.enex  file from the legacy version, and import again to the new one.

Is sad to know that Evernote is not reliable anymore.

Imagine if you need a old note, some years from now, but legacy is discontinued in that time in the future,

so the info you trusted would be there, no longer is accessible.

The whole purpose of the app is lost.

No notebook encryption.

No local folders.

And now, not even a reliable solution for filling/storing.

Evernote seems to be kind of sinking.

Thanks, for the help anyway.

My attachments show, no problem.

Have you issued a support ticket ?

About a sinking ship: I was concerned as probably many others when EN hardly could keep up with OS changes, back then, before v10.

Since they solved the severe toothing problems of the first v10 releases, and are steadily releasing one new version every month, I am pretty sure the future looks bright. We lost some features, we are gaining others. The balance is shifting more and more to what we get than what we loose.

But this everybody needs to evaluate himself, each use case is different. If you can’t do without local notebooks, there are alternatives.

I solved the problem by exporting all notes, and then importing it again.

But started the migration to other platforms, to see which ones I likes most.

Since in my opinion a file vault, or a encrypted notebook is a must have .

Thanks @PinkElephant.
