refresh button and status

I realize that Evernote is supposed to be up-to-date with the cloud, but the reality is that there are times when it is not (initial installation on a new PC, a large number of large items input, slow connection, etc.)  There used to be a button and status that you could initiate and see if there was anything going on (much like the idiot lights on a PC or car).

Why would you remove this very useful tool?

There is a thread requesting the sync button to come back.
