unable to open a picture if it's attached (view as attachment)

In the note I am unable to open a picture if it's attached (view as attachment). I can tap/double tap on it, but nothing happens.

The only option to view attached picture is to save it to the device and open it or change "view options" inside the note menu to "image" (a lot of clicking):

When I change view options to "image" I can just click on the picture to open it up:

 

I want to be able to click on the attached picture to open it.
