New Android App Slow as Heck

I am using the latest Android technology. The new Evernote app for android is very slow on every level. What is going on?

not only is it slow, but on my android phone opening a stack to find the right notebook has become a time consuming challenge.  I hate what they did to a perfectly good program.  I'm a long time user, but looking for something else, because I can't spend 15 minutes trying to open a notebook.
