Guest Henri Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 The new Android app takes over 10s to just OPEN on my phone. Sharing a document or image into Evernote can take up to 20s. On the previous version (before the major upgrade) it was quick and snappy. WHAT are you thinking Evernote?? All pretty and no performance. There is no way I will renew my Premium if Evernote does not fix this soon!
ehrt74 240 Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Hello! This is a user forum. If you wish to report a bug to Evernote, please use Menu -> Settings -> Support
Geert Vander Veken 2 Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 I fully agree. Evernote 10.x has introduced a "large" issue in terms of responsiveness which makes that - at least for me - Evernote is too difficult to use at this stage. Before version 10.x Evernote was more responsive. I was hoping that every new 10.x release of Evernote would solve the issue... but so far I haven't seen any improvement. The response-issues don't have a relation to my computer of mobile phone. I'm using 3 different recent computers using Intel i5 & i7 and 2 recent mid-end Android phones. On the other hand web-version looks OK. I hope that Evernote takes this message seriously as they risk that many end-users will start moving to competitive solutions because in case their response problem isn't solved. 1
Jeffrey Archer 2 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Evernote 10 on Android is so slow that it is now completely unusable. I am running it on adequate hardware. I can't imagine anyone can use the app without being completely frustrated. I have decided against renewing my subscription until this issue is fixed. I wish there was some acknowledgement from Evernote about the issue just to say that they have heard the feedback. 1 1
afraba 10 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 The issues are so many and wo serious that is difficult to point them out. New version in slow, unacceptably slow. Tags are collected and asigned by the program from no-one knows where. When clipping, you must close and reopen the note to erase all those fake tags and add the right ones. When I clip videos from Youube, there was previously an option to clip 'only the link'. This saves space amd gets faster. You also avoid bad cluttering with incorrect stuff from the long vids page in youtube, and allows you to streamline the clipping of several related vids by joining their respective notes in the PC app afterwards. It was a VERY useful ability from previous version. Well, NO MORE. Also when clipping Internet pages into Evernote notes, the Android app now assigns a wrong default title. (To make things worse and more weird, the title is in Spanish! though I have as default language English in all my apps). The tagging ang untagging actions take way more time than before. I realize now that tagging is useless if you cannot do it fast. ALL other functions are also significantly slower. I suspect that even searching has become slower amd buggier. So Evernote, please acknowledge the wrongdoing and return to previous version. Please. 2
nandre7 0 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Hi, the application does not allow to visualize the captures saved on the device and to see them in the notes. It is not just slow, I have a cycle that runs on captures for a month! so they will never arrive. I have already uninstalled the app from the home screen, I use it less and less. Do you have a schedule on this problem? Best,
Alxa 502 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Hi nandre7, if you mean with captures and cycles running, that your taken pictures are not displayed on Android I can tell you that support acknowledged this as a known issue to me. I got an email from Evernote staff (technical support specialist) which described the process to me and that they are on fixing this issue which (unlucky for the devs and some of us) has not completely been fixed with 10.5. Hopefully the fix will then get into one of the next updates.
ehrt74 240 Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Version 10.7 opens and loads a note in under 2s on my Android device. 1
amsterplan 14 Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 SLOW on AndroidScanning receipts, tagging them, and placing them in the correct notebook is painfully slow. I hope EN gets this fixed. I wish I could go back to legacy on the Android the meantime.
Artrutx 1 Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Mine is on Android and version 10.7.2 and takes AGES to load notes. Was considering going premium but not now. Will be looking for another service as this is now unusable. Evernote what do you have to say on the subject? 1
Eduardo Suranyi 2 Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 My god. i used this app for 10 years in differnet Android phones without problems. With the last actualization all change. All is difficult, the notes needs a lot of time to be loaded and practically the app is not usable when you need ro read a note quickly. i dont undersatnd what happenend but as a client i need to return very quickly to the app that we haved before this. I see in different places a lot of people having the same issues that I have currently.. It is the first time in 10 years that I think in change the note app. 2
KieranM55 0 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I'm in the same boat, used Evernote for 7 or so years, and it's always been so fast to load and easy to use, now when I want to add a very quick item to my To-Do list it takes 10+ seconds just to load one note on my brand new Pixel 5 phone. I still get the 'We're setting up your new app' message as well every time, even though I've had the latest Android version for months already. Very frustrating.

Something is definitely wrong with your installation. I don't get that message and Evernote opens in about 2s on my phone.
liaquila 3 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Hi Can't save and share pdfs on Android anymore. I have a Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Tab 7 and in both devices I can't either open the pdf in another app and then share it and when I try to download the pdf to my device the saved file is always corrupted and don't open in any app. Please Evernote developers fix the problems before implement any more new features!!! I'm a long time user and all my documents to receipts are in Evernote. I need it to work well. It's part of my daily workload. To keep going I had to install latest version 8 to be able to use Evernote. Done it by installing a app that I found in a forum. I don't want to do that for secure issues. Please fix the bugs. The problems people all over the Internet are reporting about version 10 are not minor.
vistaera 0 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 first time using the Evernote forum as want to find out does other users have same experience as me previously is happy evernote user Quote after the major update, now feel evernote not very good already The new Android app takes over 10s to just OPEN on my phone.Sharing a document or image into Evernote can take up to 20s.On the previous version (before the major upgrade) it was quick and snappy. i got the same user experience as above
James Muir 1 Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 What is the latest on updates to the Android version? I have years of notes and it is completely unusable at this point because of performance issues. 1
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,003 Posted October 21, 2021 Level 5 Posted October 21, 2021 The latest mobile client is 10.19. I did not feel any performance change on iOS, there is nothing mentioned on the Android release notes.
Alxa 502 Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 With 10.19 again a bit better than with 10.18. But in comparison to every other app on Android the performance of the Evernote app still feels like a big sluggish mistake of a demotivated freelance programmer. If speed does not increase dramatically by programming design you have to wait for future devices with a multiple of cpu speeds I guess. After over 10 months it is as sad as that on Android. 1
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,072 Posted October 22, 2021 Evernote Expert Posted October 22, 2021 I know that some consider the Android app to be slow. That isn't my experience. I'm trying to work out what the common factors are for those with problems with EN v10 on Android. For sure the issues don't affect everyone. So what is it that might give us a clue? So far the only thing I've noticed is that some issues seem to affect Samsung devices more than others.
Tim Wallace 3 Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 I'm a fan of the new tasks feature, but I found that any task-related activities slowed the Android app down to the point of being unusable. So, I removed the calendar and tasks widgets from the home screen and EN worked OK. With the 10.19 Android release, performance of tasks on the home screen has improved dramatically on my device (a Huawei P20 Pro). The home screen refreshes in under a second. I can do crazy things like adding tasks, or completing them without them mysteriously reappearing a few seconds later. The dedicated Tasks screens can still take 20-30 seconds to refresh, but that's less of a problem because I use the Windows application to do most of the heavy-duty task management. When I'm out and about I generally just use the home page, which is now a lot quicker. So far, so good! 1
