Merging 2 notes - where did the second note go?

I have used Evernote for YEARS and rarely have any major issues but I rely on merging and for reasons above my pay grade when I merge two notes the second page is nowhere to be found.  Both notes end up in the trash after the merge as they always have but no amount of scrolling, clicking or screaming reveals any info past the first note merged.  I am on Evernote 10.8.5 MAC OS Big Sure Version 11.1  Also it does not show the info on any device..iphone, iPad or even upon web log in. I used to consider myself pretty savvy on tech but this has me completely flummoxed and reaching for the hard alcohol

Glad you found the bits in the Trash - hope too much hard alcohol was not required.  I assume you probably copy/ pasted the one content into the other,  which might not be a bad plan of attack until you find out more about this...
