LAQ 0
I'm a brand new Evernote user on Mac v10.8.4 My project is to create a notebook of digital patterns that I own - images, names, etc. and then share them via a public link for others to look at when discussing project ideas. I created a test notebook with a handful of notes. From what I can tell there has been a fairly recent update so I'm not sure how current the info I'm finding actually is. The Evernote Help & Learning center says I should be able to publish a shareable link to non-Evernote users by right-clicking on the name of the notebook. When I do that, there is no option for Publish. Only share. I don't want to share because the people I want to view this most likely don't have Evernote and won't want to download and create an account, Am I missing something obvious? Link to comment
romelden 30
Personally not agree to have this function. Because I am using EN in China. It will be highly risky to be blocked if EN can be too easy to publish into public, like Notion. It can be export instead of share directly. Poor us, this request is very normal, be our choose is very limited. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,661 Posted February 16, 2021 Level 5* Share Posted February 16, 2021 Actually you should have several options to share... There are a few ways you can share multiple notes with others, depending on their familiarity with Evernote and the level of security you need on the note. The easy way - just Share in Evernote https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005417-Share-notes https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314748-Share-notebooks - your users need to be familiar with Evernote usage Public shares - (obviously not for anything confidential) Share all the notes publicly and 'note' (sorry for the pun) their public URLs. Create one or more Table of Contents notes according to the logic of your note-tree. Replace the links in those notes with the public links. Add a link back to the top level ToC to every note. Email a link to the top ToC to your users and sit back and let them browse their mini-website. via a Third Party App Have a look at Postachio which will turn a notebook of your choice into a publically available blog. It's customisable in different ways - and access to the blog can be password protected if necessary. Postachio - https://postach.io/ Example blog (mine) - https://cliffeactual.postach.io/ (It's maintained by adding or updating notes in an Evernote notebook) 1 Link to comment

The only option seems to be to share the notebook with other EN users. This need not be a major problem as they can use EN on the web (no download) but they will need to sign up (but can use Google or Apple). Link to comment

Creating a public notebook like you could in the past was removed from the new updates. You can still do it from the legacy apps and from older versions of the web client if you have access to them. Also, if you are in a Business account you can't create a public notebook due to security and privacy issues related to those accounts. Link to comment

But it's listed as "not yet available" so presumably it will be available to business accounts in the future: From https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047889234-What-s-new-in-Evernote-for-Windows 1 Link to comment

They have mentioned in the past that they were thinking of bringing it to the business side, so hopefully it does make it over for sure. Link to comment
