Android app version 8.13.3 will not update to later versions...

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. "Check for updates" is not available in the Help menu.
I uninstalled Evernote from phone (Samsung Note 9) and reinstalled.
Evernote 8.13.3 reinstalled.

I'm trying to get the Dark Mode functionality of version 10.
Version 8.13.3 has "Dark Theme" which seems to have less consistent 'dark' settings.

I have an Evernote Premium account.

Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks for the very prompt reply.

I'm currently on Android 10, but I'm not sure when it updated from 9.

I should give it some time to see if the update cycle for Evernote will catch up to my phone.

Hi.

Evernote's announcement:  https://evernote.com/blog/new-evernote-android/

The important bit:  "if your device is running Android 9 or older, or is not yet in the update queue, you won’t see the new app in the store."

Thank you @gazumped! I've been frustrated for a few months with all the bugs in my Android EN but I wasn't aware that there was a newer version that I couldn't download because my phone has Android 9 (it's "old", only 3 years old!)... Anyway, this explains why the bugs. Thanks!

Consider yourself lucky. v10 for Android is a very mixed bag, with numerous severe bugs that have yet to be fixed since they were reported in an invite-only beta last year.

Ah interesting! I participated in the beta testing last year and I was wondering why I haven't seen any updates on my phone. Now I know and I guess, yes, I'm lucky...

Hi, I'm very unsatisfied with the new (10.0) Android app, e.g. can't  share files anymore and can't open many of saved embedded files of older notes , incl some pics ad pdf. So no access to some files with my mobile anymore. I loved and used Evernote a lot since 2011 with Premium.

Evernote costumer service didn't provide any help, sent me looking myself in user forums....😡

On my tablet fortunately I didn't update yet, there the older 2020 version works totally fine for me.

Any idea how to reinstall the older version on android mobile (Samsung Note 10)? Tried one source, phone would allow as unsecured source...

Looking for this version, provably the last version since the huge change

8.13.36 Jun 2020

Hi.  There are several third-party sites offering older versions of Evernote.  I'm still running 8.13.3 on both phone and Samsung tablet which (AFAIK) was the last publicly available version.  You should be able to find instructions online as to how to change settings and download an unsecured installer.  It's not without risk,  so consider your options carefully...
