Better Handwriting Support

I use a Surface Book and was looking at starting to use evernote, as I like the organization much better than onenote.  However, evernote's support for hadnwriting is completely dreadful on the Windows version of the application.  Are there any plans to bring it up to par with the ipad version or with onenote itself?  I would switch to evernote in an instant if I could simply write in my notes with my surface pen and not open a separate little handwriting note and have it then be inserted as an image, not able to interact with etc...

This has been a ongoing request for years.  I recently left Evernote for OneNote, because I work so much on a iPad with pencil. They don’t appear to be interested in adding this function.  If they did, I would return immediately. As it is, it’s been a topic for years with no movement.
