All notes got moved to Trash (not by me)

I just opened Evernote for the first time in about 3-4 weeks and just found that all my notes are in the trash.  the notebooks remain, but are all empty.

 

This really scares me as there is no way I could have done this on my own.  I am paying for the mid tier subscription.

 

I would certainly like to know why and how to prevent this.  Now I have to put everything back and will definitely create another backup and move to another platform.

In this case I would issue a support ticket.

Maybe they can reproduce the movements on your account from their end.

In addition you can check whether there was an evil access to your account. EN itself is safe, but there are cases known where users did use the same login data for several services. When one of this services got breached, hackers may try the login on others, and sometimes they just get lucky.

To check, go to your account page, and look up the devices list and the recent access history. If you find a device or an access that looks weird, immediately change your password, revoke access to this device and for better security activate 2FA.
