How to organize notes under the same notebook, as in unix directory structure without using tags?

under each notebooks, notes are listed as a flat structure by default.

I'd like to organize my notes in a hierarchy like a unix directory structure (with proper indentations when displayed, etc).

How to do this?

Thanks

Hi.  It is not possible within a notebook.  It is possible if you create an 'index note' - select all the notes you wish to list and create a Table of Contents.  Edit and indent the note names in the ToC as required.

Tags can be nested, but Evernote doesn't support file trees. This was very much by design. The Evernote philosophy is built around tagging and the search function. If you're interested in geeky stuff, have a look at the Evernote query language.
