Disable OCR / View Note as an Image File

Is there a way to disable the OCR feature and view a note as an image? 

My wife handwrites notes and emails them to me, and I archive emails in Evernote.  But with the changes, I can't see her writing, except in the little preview.

Ok, this is even more strange.  Maybe it's a thing with the new Evernote?

I opened the note on my old Galaxy Tab, and it had an image attached which wasn't showing up in my new Mac desktop or new iPad version of Evernote.

I think that I was mistaken, part of the email was typed, and part was an image attachment.

But after I opened the note on my old Galaxy Tab, then the image showed up on the Mac desktop and iPad version.

So, the image file disappeared, until it was opened on the older device.

I have no idea how to fix this aside from keeping an older device on hand.  Hopefully there's an update which solves this problem.
