There are several formatting issues that affect the new editor that are resolved by typing a space before the required character.  So SPACE then TAB will achieve what you desire. Not the most intuitive answer. Using the TAB as its native purpose would be what would be expected. However, Evernote 10 is not the only word processor/note taking application that uses the TAB at the start of a paragraph to trigger a paragraph indent.

For that reason I anticipate that this is the intended result rather than a bug in the code.

Perhaps post a request in the Windows Request forums to propose that TAB acts as a tab and Ctrl+TAB does the paragraph indenting or similar.
