Evernote for Mac 10.4.4 launches itself/maximizes itself/forces itself into focus

Evernote for Mac 10.4.4, build 2096 public, Editor: v112.1.14477, Service: v1.23.6

Hardware: Macbook Air (M1, 2020)

OS: Big Sur 11.0.1

At seemingly random intervals, Evernote will do the following, disrupting whatever I'm doing at that moment:

• Launches itself. And I do mean by itself, while it is not running, from a quit state.
• When minimized, it maximizes itself into focus as the front application.
• When maximized but not the front application, it forces itself into focus as the front application.

Absolutely maddening. The only solution I've found is to uninstall the app.
