List of notes does not update, new notes not accessible

I'm using the following version of Evernote on Mac OSX Mojave:

v 10.3.7 build 458378 public
Editor: v111.0.14414
Service: v1.22.6

Issues I have:

• after resuming a session on my Mac I've tried to change the title of a note and to create a new note
• the note that was renamed briefly appears with its new name at the top of the list of notes of my selected notebook and then reverts to its previous name both in the display of the list of notes and in the pane with the view in the note's contents
• the new note I've created does not appear in the list of notes and seems to be not accessible
• shutting down and restarting Evernote solves both problems, i.e. I can see the note with the new name and I can see the three notes that were created in my three attempts to create a note (see screenshot). That's lousy.
