joestef 1
Prior to Evernote 10.3, documents scanned from my ScanSnap ix500 went into whatever notebook currently had the focus. With 10.3, those scans created a new "imported" notebook. Now, with 10.4.3, scanned documents go to the default notebook instead of the notebook that has the focus in the app. Please fix this so it works as it did previously. Expected results: scanned documents are placed in the folder that currently has the focus within the Evernote application. 1 Link to comment
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,064 Posted November 22, 2020 Evernote Expert Share Posted November 22, 2020 This is actually a very significant improvement over the initial situation. I suspect that it has required a bit of work on the side of Fujitsu to update the ScanSnap Manager software which had been abandoned and superseded by its ScanSnap Home product. I, too, have taken advantage of being able to scan into the notebook which had focus but I also regularly ended up having to move stuff around when I had focus in the 'wrong' place. I agree it would be great to get this function back but I also want to record my appreciation for the work to resolve ScanSnap Manager scanning which was originally going to be removed until so many users spoke up. 2 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,926 Posted November 22, 2020 Level 5 Share Posted November 22, 2020 ScanSnap Manager needed to be coded completely new for the new release. Before it was 32bit software, the new versions for Windows and Mac are 64Bit. But the import improvements AFAIK took part on the EN side. For me on a Mac with BigSur (where 32bit software is not executed) it is nice to have ScanSnap Manager back, plus better import on the EN side. Link to comment
