Evernote Scanning for Mac new version 10.3.7

I purchased a new scanner an Epson Smart Scan ES-400 and when I downloaded the new version of Evernote it will not let me drag a PDF file to another document like in an e-mail. The old version of evernote works fine and when I drag a file it ends up as a PDF file. Is the new version not responding to the software in my new scanner.

Scanner support is one of the features that at best are rudimentary in v10.

If you need a good scanner integration, install the legacy app.

What will the legacy app. do, will I be able to scan and drag the PDF file once I download the legacy app.  and do you go to the app. store to download it.

No, the app store only installs the Version 10 product
