Cannot Edit Tables

I have a large table in a note that needs to be adjusted.  the columns are too wide and  there is absolutely no way I can adjust the width of these columns.

Please don't tell me to hover above the table or   to look for the corner arrow - to adjust the size.  I have tried everything.

I am totally unable to make any changes to the borders of this table.

what to do???
