Update fails if Evernote is running

If Evernote is already running, update fails with no option; forcing an abort and must restart the update.  Is there a workaround, besides remembering to close the program before applying the update?

Obviously not a huge deal, but other software has thoughtfully worked this out.  Presumably it is not a major thing to code.  Please fix this process to check if Evernote is already running, and close it automatically (or offer to close it).
