Encrytped Notes - Security Issue in New Evernote V.10.1.7

In trying to understand how to use the new Evernote this week I ran into a frightening security problem. 

I sometimes include a website address in an encrypted note for convenience. When I now try to copy the address in the note and paste it into my brower (google chrome) It pastes all of the text in my encrypted note into the google search box - not just the website address that I was trying to paste into the search box

That information was encryted in Evernote and was supposed to be secure. It is not.

Why does this happen in the new overhauled Evernote?

What can you do to prevent this security breach?
