Enter does not set focus in the note editor of the selected note

According to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209004807 when the focus is on the note list the enter key will Set focus in the note editor of the selected note

This does not work for me.

Thank you all for taking the time to reach out. 

I wanted to let you all know that we're working to reproduce this behavior on our end. Would you all mind providing additional information about the Windows devices from which you are accessing Evernote or a screen recording if possible?

Mine is a fairly old desktop PC with conventional keyboard and mouse. I don't think a screen recording would add much: I select a note in the note list using my mouse and then when I hit enter nothing happens. It doesn't matter whether the list is all notes, a notebook or a search result. It also doesn't matter which type of view I have.

I suppose that big white area is where the text of the new note goes, but clicking, hitting enter, nothing seems to make this typable. I suppose there's also a note title somewhere that I can type but I can't access that either. Help!
