Images sporadically appear in notes

I have Evernote v. 8.24.6.370571 installed on an iPhone 6.  I've been using it to create a new note, give it a title, and then take a photo of a recipe to save it.  Sometimes everything works fine. Other times, I can see a preview of the image, but when I click on the note, the image does not appear.  Sometimes there's no preview and no image.  There doesn't seem to be a trend as to whether or not this happens with one image or multiple images.

When I check on my MacBook Pro, the issue appears differently.  It looks like some that have preview images on my iPhone don't have them at all.
