Links pasted outside Evernote do not open in the app

I create links like the one below from the ios and Mac clients.

On ios they are opened in the app but not on the Mac. Is it supposed to work like this? Does anyone else have links in the same format as the one below opening in their Evernote for Mac app rather than the web client? (Btw I'm aware of Evernote:/// links and how to create them, however I need one link which works on mobile/desktop and on the web at my work pc where Evernote is not installed)

On the Mac client, I can hold down the Option key and copy the in-app (Classic) link
(evernote:///view/1156250/s10/0236156d-ba03-4...)

You should use the default private browser link (https://www.evernote.com/shard/s705/nl/...)
A cookie will redirect the links to the Evernote app (if installed)

Ok, thanks! So if I use the old web version I can get the redirects to native app on the mac?
