Shortcuts missing

Well. As it looks like nobody cares about this or any other feedback users are giving. Your beta shows how disconnected you are from your premium users needs, and I'm not only talking about Mac users, but about Windows as I've been on this beta as well. I've seen feedback from your users getting delivered, but the product remaining the same.

Because of that, and several years of stagnation from your side, I just want you to know that, after longer than 6 years being a premium member of Evernote and even though I just renewed my subscription for a year in July this will be the last time I renew my subscription with you.

With the time you're getting more and more disconnected from your users. It's pretty clear that you're not actively listening/reading your users feedback and that you're still thinking as a 2008-2010 company.

In case you're interested, I've started moving all my data to Notion, which for me is mostly what Evernote 2020 should have been but that isn't.

If I distill this to a short version, and look at the link you are posting it, you should probably learn to know your Mac, and the EN client.

  • The main EN shortcuts are in EN settings, tab shortcuts
  • There is an extensive help document about this: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313358-Keyboard-shortcuts-in-Evernote-for-Mac
  • There are nearly 100 (!) shortcuts for EN on the Mac, part of which is borrowed from the OS.
  • OS shortcuts can be modified in the Mac settings, keyboard, Tab shortcuts. They can be defined per App, which means any shortcut missing you can create yourself, and this for general use or specific just for EN

Maybe the neglect is less on the side of EN, but with your ability to use what you get.

But you move on to a bright future: Notion is a nice, flexible database, that allows many things to be set up just the way you want it. The downside is, many things are not preset, so you have to put in a lot of work and definition before it produces results. Compared to this, EN has some restrictions, but it works "out of the box" for the key functions.

NB: We are in the beta forum. The beta desktop app on Mac has only a single preference option, and that is "Save Data at Log out." Your linked help document is not accurate for the beta; I can confirm that ⌘-J does not have any effect.

The removal of shortcuts really decreases Evernote's usability. If they do not re-instate the shortcuts, I will be forced to cancel my Evernote Premium and find another note-taking application.
