How do I use Search?

I use Evernote to search files, infrequently.  I understand search but once a search is done I am frustrated. I see the yellow lines on the right for where my search item is found, How do I get to that location fast?

Once at the yellow line my search item is highlighted in blue but the highlight disappears How do I keep the highlight on? Can I change its color?

You can use Ctrl+F in the note to find occurrences of the search.
