But there's no way to launch an external editor for your core note contents, since no other editor supports all of the types of data that you can throw into an Evernote note. Link to comment

Apps like MacJournal currently offer this, for composing long-form text. It makes a real difference when you're trying to compose an idea. Additional UI can be very distracting when writing. Additional UI can be very distracting when writing.+1 for a full screen minimalistic editor. Double clicking an Evernote to only have the note in focus is already great compared to editing it while in the List-View, but full screening it and having the menubar at the top would be great.
