Notebook disappeared, title duplicate problem

I had a notebook that was just a junk notebook with one note in it; I deleted the junk note and renamed the notebook for future use. 
 

I can no longer find the notebook with the rest of the ones I have, and I can’t start a new one with the same name despite my settings not registering the missing notebook as existing.

You can search for the notebook when you press the Notes icon in the bottom left of the IOS screen.
