How to Recover My Evernote Notebooks after Windows 10 Re-install

I had to reinstall Windows 10 and want to use recover my Evernote notebooks that I previously used. I downloaded Evernote and hit sync but it did not find any of my old notebooks. Any suggestions? what am i doing wrong?

Make sure you're using the correct userid/ password

Check the master version of your data on the servers at www.evernote.com

Thanks DTLow - I have two email addresses and set up account with my non-business email account. I see my notebooks now!
