What is the point of the green pencil button?

Recommended Posts

Touching anywhere in the note puts it into edit mode, so why even have the green pencil edit button? I'm constantly editing notes on accident, especially when cooking, so it feels like that icon is just there to mock me.

Most of my notes I like to sorted by 'date modified', and their order is important to me, but thanks to there being no way to edit the dates on notes, combined with the frequency of unwitting screen touches, my note organization is becoming a mess.

Hi.  It's not my experience that touching anywhere on a note will edit it - a touch on the pencil is required.  And AFAIK unless you make a substantive change to the note,  the modified date will not change.  If that's an issue for you,  you might consider dating your notes in the title with 'YYYYMMDD' so they're locked into a specific order when sorted that way.

Really? Evernote behaves that way on both my Android phone and tablet.

Hmm. I'm an android user and I have experienced this for a long time. But then I have a back button on the phone that asks if I want to discard my accidental changes.

@gazumped IOS?

?? I use Android too.
