i see this issue intermittently.

also, i'm pretty sure iOS (phone) mobile app search is broken at the moment (june 19th, 2020, 10am pacific).

i can't easily find a status.  if the issue has been reported or acknowledged.  if the issue is being worked.

I just discovered this bug as well. I thought it was only on the Mac app Preview Beta, but I confirmed it in the web search as well.

Searching did not return results on notes in a shared notebook, until I had opened the notebook. After that, the notes in the notebook appeared to be indexed.

I can't reproduce the bug easily but suspect that it may recur when there's a version update? The failed search was working in stable Evernote for Mac, but not working the first time I ran it in the Preview Beta or the web interface.

Just tried some searches on my iPad. I share some notebooks with my wife, we are both on Premium.

1) All notes selected:

When I search in a notebook I shared with my wife, notes are found. It finds notes created by me or by my wife.

If my wife searches, notes are not found. The Search Wheel indicator spins forever.
This does not depend on who created the note - even notes created by her, but placed in the shared notebook that belongs to my account are not found.

2) Shared notebook is selected:

Search on my iPad (notebook belongs to my account) or on the iPad of my wife deliver search results.

Conclusion: At the moment, if you search something under iOS in a shared Notebook that belongs to another account, you have to select this notebook first, and then search. If it belongs to you, this is not necessary.

Because of the spinning search indicator, I think it is a bug on the server. The iPad expects an answer that the server does not deliver. It spins so long that any search on the server would have terminated - but it does not stop, and no „not found“ is ever returned. This sounds like a bug, not a search that runs its course and delivers a(ny) result.

On the Desktop i have not tried.

exactly, just try the Web Client: it shows you e. g. 9 notes found but the list view is strange, you see 9 blank note entries. Seems the Web Client is waiting for content, too - while the iOS client just shows the spinning search indicator. As long as you know in what Notebook you have to search you're fine - if not, bad thing, Evernote doesn't find anything - and that is exactly the opposite what Evernote is compromising: remember everything (even in shared notebooks this should be possible) 😞
