Writing and Drawing

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've just downloaded Evernote but i haven't figured how to draw and write in the same note. To be clear I'd like to write a note with my keyboard and then, maybe below, drawing something since I got a drawing tablet. Basically I'd like a mix of "ink note" and "standard note".

Hi, and welcome to Evernote and to the forums. I would ask what platform you are using for Evernote (Windows program, Web client, Android app, etc.); but I don't think it matters, because I don't think this has been implemented on any of them. I can understand the need for it, but a handwriting ("ink") note is simply a different animal from a typed-text note. One option might be to type a note, then create a second note with drawing, and then insert a link to the second note into the first one. When you're viewing a note, there should be a menu option to "Copy internal link"; this copies a link to the clipboard which can then be pasted into another note.

Super cool, @DTLow. I'd have to assume that this uses capabilities of iOS that are not available on other platforms. But it would be great if it could become possible in Windows, Android, and the Web client too.

I added a link for Android   https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314548-How-to-add-handwriting-to-notes-on-Android-devices
I'm guessing it works the same

Note; this is not core Evernote
I'ts a supplementary function that inserts an attachment into the note; something like an image

Wow. Thanks so much. I wonder how long this has been available and I just didn't know it. I'm embarrassed!

There are several capabilities EN borrows from the OS side. This is one of the reasons why many users have the feeling that the clients are not consistent. One is that a client for iOS may have capabilities others don’t have - because it is donated by the OS. The other is that similar functions may work differently in different operating systems.

Sketching is one of them, another is speech to text conversion.
