replace CTRL KEY with SHIFT KEY to simplify shortcuts

why not set as defaults the shortcut keys for new note window, screen slip, search evernote in options settings to use the SHIFT key instead so there is less thinking time wasted, movement time wasted, smaller learning curve between the move note "CTRL + SHIFT + M" key and the other shortcut keys. E.g. the screen clip changed to "CTRL + SHIFT + S"

That's why they are in Options.  I set my Capture hot key to Alt+0.  Two fingers quicker than three for me.  And copy selection to Ctrl+Win+A, again three fingers easier then four.  Whatever floats your boat.

These five Global Shortcut keys have defaults, but you can change them to fit whatever works best for you.

There are a large number of local shortcut keys, and speaking from some experience, it can be difficult to find perfect usability for all users in choice of shortcut key. Something that "shortens learning curve" for you may lengthen lengthen learning curve for me, and vice-versa. On the whole, with many 10's of shortcuts available, I'd guess that any so-called leaning curve among the non-standard ones (i.e. excluding Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, and the like) would be immeasurable. In fact, I'd guess that most users don't use all of the shortcut keys, so it's not even an issue for most.

Short form: difficulty in measuring a difference for a seemingly small subset of the users = "small bang for big bug", i.e., low priority. Particularly when the user can change the global hotkeys.

BTW, "Move Note" is Alt+Shift+M, not Ctrl+Shift+M (Ctrl+Shift+M is "decrease indentation". That's one that I use a lot, along with its friend Ctrl+M "increase indentation)". Note that Alt+Shift+M is a*lot* closer to the default key set than Ctrl+Shift+M...

thanks, could u recommend a third party hotkey app or some way to remap the evernote move note shortcut keys to other simpler two keys keyboard shortcut?

I use PhraseExpress to create hot keys and auto text for EN and other apps. Anything that is frequent and repetitive. For example cleaning up and adding notebook and tags to emails I forward To EN.  Managing reminder dates.  

Others mention AutoHotKey.  I’m just used to PE at this point.  I created an excel spreadsheet so as to know what combos are safe.   Characters/keys and mouse clicks down the side and Alt, Ctrl, Shift, Win, and all the combos across the top.  FWIW
