0 brando90 20
I am trying to set up 2-factor authentication (two factor authentication) but I never receive an text despite my other services e.g. google etc sending me texts just fine. So perhaps I would try an authenticator app but there are no instructions or options of how to set this up with evernote. Help? Link to comment

I use Microsoft Authenticator, works fine. Many password managers have build in Authenticators that will do the job as well. Link to comment

0 Level 5 PinkElephant 8,738 Posted October 12, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted October 12, 2023 This works for every standard authenticator app. I don’t use MS Authenticator for EN, but didn’t notice a difference with other apps. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314238 Link to comment
0 seebee 26
thanks. The microsoft authenticator app requires either a qr code, or manually entered code from Evernote. Any idea where this could be located? Link to comment
0 Evernote Expert agsteele 3,056 Posted October 12, 2023 Evernote Expert Share Posted October 12, 2023 You receive a QR code during the 2FA setup process. If you are using SMS 2FA you should disable that first. 1 Link to comment
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 8,738 Posted October 12, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted October 12, 2023 If you used 2FA up to now, you first need to disable it, using a last SMS code to confirm. Then it’s without 2FA. And now enable 2FA again, and follow the instructions. The necessary codes will be presented during the process. Personally I use Authy as authenticator app - it’s better for use on several devices simultaneously. 1 Link to comment
0 VincentC 333
Also, a picture is worth a thousand words (and a video much more than that, IMO). I just did a quick search for "set up Microsoft Authenticator" on You Tube and there are dozens of videos. I don't think setting up Evernote is different from setting up any other app, so you may benefit from browsing those videos. Vinnie 2 Link to comment
