(Archived) Sync timing out

revrev

Idea

I consistently get time-outs when using Evernote on my work computer, though my home computer seems to work fine. I've tried deleting and resyncing the entire database multiple times. It just seems to hang with about 5mb left on the sync, and does so every time.

here's the log:

It's entirely possible, but I can't find any evidence of it. All my proxy settings in OS X are turned off, as well as local firewall. There may be a building firewall, but I've never had issues with any other software. I'll check with our IT folks - are there certain ports or anything else that need to be turned on?

No, Evernote communicates with our servers (http://www.evernote.com) via standard HTTP and HTTPS at ports 80 and 443. But it's possible that the network could be configured to block particularly large transfers, either intentionally or accidentally.

If this is only a problem for your very first-time sync, you could theoretically copy your database file from your home computer onto a flash drive and bring it into the work computer. (Tools > Options > General)
